How old does my child have to be to start swimming?
Our programme is designed for children from the age of 9 weeks.
What do I need to bring?
Yourselves, a towel, swimming trunks or costume.
For babies – we recommend ‘Two Bare Feet’ swim wetsuits that help to maintain heat during the lesson. Babies or children who are not toilet trained also need to wear a swim nappy.
Do I need to be in the water with my child?
Yes, an adult is required to get in the water when taking part in the parent and child classes. We recommend children go into lessons around age 3 independently. This is the best way to build water confidence and gain progression.
Will there be an instructor in the water with my child?
Yes, we pride ourselves on having instructors in the water who are there to support you and your child and encourage you to be confident to really push the boundaries.
What happens if we miss a session?
Unfortunately as you commit to a block all classes missed will still be charged for. We do however, make allowances for serious illness or extreme circumstances. We can keep credit on an account if a child is poorly or cannot attend for a while. We aim to be as flexible as possible.
How long will it take for my child to learn to swim?
We cannot put a time scale on this as every child is so different and we aim to cater for your child’s individual needs. We do however have a 100% pass rate and 98% renewal rate!
How do your record the children’s swimming achievements?
My First Piranha Journey Booklet is unique to Piranha Babies and is specially designed by our team of infant specialists. This will allow you to treasure your child’s swim journey for years to come and keep a record of your little one’s first milestones and incredible achievements.
How much are the lessons?
The lesson prices vary for the type of lesson and are included in our individual site information.
How long is a term?
The terms vary dependant on the length of the school terms. They tend to be 5 to 8 weeks in length.
What experience/ qualifications do the teachers have?
All of our instructors are handpicked specialist Piranha trainers. The best of the bunch! They all are ASA qualified in teaching swimming and are CRB checked.
What insurance do you have?
All of our instructors are fully insured personally as ASA qualified teachers and are covered by Piranha’s public liability insurance.
Do I need to keep enrolling?
Yes, it is important to enrol you and your child with every new term to ensure you receive the slot that suits you the best. This also helps to keep the child settled.
